Associating with words from Upsidedown Bee

Cry: swollen eyes
Stretch: need to do more well need to do at all
Efficient: Electric
Brunch: Starving if I haven't eaten yet
Afro: Big
Preheat: Dessert
Delicious: Dessert (I'm seeing a trend)
Global warming: Garbage-not in the land fill-crock-not true
Actions: louder than words (sang a song like this when I was small)
Ride: a bike-not me the kids Hahahaha

Upsidedown Bee thought this game was called unconscious mutterings, so I thought I would see what my brain was thinking!

Aging

Isn't it amazing we don't recognize ourselves as we age! In my mind I am still 25 and thin: not 38 and thicker than thin. I don't want to use the words fat or heavy. Okay, so I may be in denial but I think I will stay there!

My Birthday continued

My day has been filled with happiness. I kept my birthday a secret. I know that I shouldn't do that because it prevents people from "blessing" me, but I don't want to seem self centered either.

I called my mom and thanked her for being a great mom. For birthing me and loving me and blessing me! I am who I am because of my mom. I hate to admit there are times I sound like my mother and I cringe. I think we all do that. Right?

I heard from all of my sisters. It was very sweet of them. Donna sang to me and Rose sent me a multimedia text with a cake and balloons. But most of all I had an e-mail, message and a phone call from Sonderella. For those of you who don't know....Sonderella and I are twins. I have always shared my special day. It doesn't bother me because it is all I know. I also always have someone who wants to celebrate as much as I do. I won't see Sonderella this year until later, but it isn't the first time we have seen each other. It is always more special when we can be together, but life is busy.

My co-workers snuck off and bought a cake and card for me. I was really surprised. It was great. Joel, Biz and Khi bought me flowers and cards. Khi had base ball practice and Joel took him. What does a birthday girl do when everyone is busy? She makes fun for herself! I took Biz and went to dinner at Sweet Tomatoes and then we went shopping at Kohl's. We only bought clearance and sell items. It was fun. Biz is so much fun right now. She is such the fashion consultant. I am enjoying my daughter as much as Joel is enjoying his son! The kids are at great ages. I know it only gets better from here.

I realize my post have slowed down lately, but life has been crazy. In a positive way, but crazy none the less.

The kids are enjoying their new school and have even been riding the bus.

Life is good.

Happy Birthday to the Twins

Cool nights, warm sunny days

Here is a picture of one of the rose bushes in front of my house. The real trick will be if they look good next year.

Last week was a nice week. The atmosphere at work has been so nice. My new students seem to be quiet. They always are to start with!

As you can see from the time of this post: I am sleepless. Just one of those things that happens.

The kids start their new school tomorrow. I know they are both a little nervous. They are great kids so they will do fine. We met teachers on Thursday. Elisabeth has a man for homeroom and the afternoon and a lady for the morning. Malakhi has a lady for the full day. Elisabeth is a little nervous as this is her first male teacher. As I said, they will both do great!

I am enjoying my season of spring. Yesterday in church I felt like God is trying to build our faith. We have not sold the other house, but I feel like God is using it to grow our faith. I can not tell you the people who speak negatively to us about buying a house before our other house sold. The missionary who spoke at our church really spoke to my heart about this. He basically said people will mix themselves up in our business and come against something that God is using to build us up. He said we should only listen to God. Joel and I both feel like God is building our faith. Joel really encouraged me to STAND and not QUESTION. I agree with him. The more I question the less my faith is exhibited. God is Good all the time.

Spring is coming!

I know, I know: Fall is coming.

I am not talking about the environmental seasons. I am talking about the season my heart has been in. Joel and the kids have been in WV since Tuesday when my mom went home. I know I have been silent over this time. But I have been praying, praying and praying. It has been nice to find some time to search my heart!

On Wednesday, God revealed that my heart has been in winter. A dark, cold period. I started this blog in my winter season. I am normally a fun loving person. I see the cup as half full instead of half empty. None of you have seen that side of me. God also told me that "Spring is coming!" Wow, I am excited about the warm, sunny feelings to return to my heart!

Thursday I went back to work. I vow it will be a better year!

Friday one of my co-workers gave her notice! Boy the things I could write at this point. I think this resignation is part of my spring. Let's just say, the whole tone of the department is going to be brighter! Not to say I think all the problems lie with this one person, but..... I should just be quiet here. I am on the world wide web and my mom taught me if I have nothing nice to say... then I should say nothing at all!

Over the last few days I have prayed for a fire in my soul, the joy of the Lord and my light to shine brightly. I pray that I will be led by the Holy Spirit each day.

Spring is right around the corner!

Our month ended early

Our month with my mom ended early.

Mom went home today. She ended up getting sick. She has an appointment with the doctor tomorrow. She started with a cold at Sonderella's and seemed to get better, but once she got here she started coughing up colored mucus and having difficulty breathing. It worried me. I am not the nurse so I didn't know what to do for her. I think she was home sick too. She packed up in an hour yesterday (without much help) and was up this morning before 6:30. I hope she gets well soon. :o(

My kids were sad to see her go. They made lots of great memories with her. They made blankets, pin cushions and cooked several great desserts. Pecan pie, chocolate pie, cinnamon rolls, and peanut butter sandwich cookies. It all ended too soon for them!

I had my first non-family overnight guest on Sunday night. Joel's best friend from high school and his family stopped by. I also had my first porch guest. I got my party lights. They are colorful gerber daisies! It was fun to show off the new house and host guest.

I go back to work on Thursday. I have enjoyed my time off. I have some much needed quiet time until Sunday. I pray for a good year at work.

The fun never ends

Mom and the kids have been busy. They have baked cookies and worked on blankets. (Note: picture is not the actual blanket made) Mom got her hair done yesterday. It looked great. It was a treat for her to go to the beauty shop. Kat (hair dresser) is great!

Unpacking has been put on hold. I have to get back to it today. I only have another week off work. I have to get more settled before going back to work!

Monologue from Upside Down B

It was a peaceful Friday night at our house until the monopoly game came out. Monopoly is always a process with my family. Peaceful is not a word used for this game. It becomes a battle! Our newest monopoly game is computerized. It has debit cards and a hand held computer. The kids were in the thick of the game when I hear a deafening scream come from the kitchen. You see the kitchen table is the location of the battle. With the blood curdling scream I hear I am sure some one has been hurt! As I enter the kitchen I witness all out war! Some how there has been a malfunction with the computer part of our new monopoly game! Upon looking closer at the situation I discover there was no malfunction at all! Malakhi has successfully won. He now owns it all! HE IS THE MASTER OF THE MONOPOLY UNIVERSE!

Side note: Malakhi has never lost a monopoly game! The pictures are actual pictures of the game! This is "almost" a true story!

Dental visits seem to be the topic

The last couple of days have been busy ones!

Dental visits seem to be the topic, so here is my version. Malakhi has had 6 teeth pulled in the last week. Joel took him last week and I took him this week. I sat in the room while he had his last 3 pulled. He was a trooper! I have worked in the field of dentistry for close to 22 years. I have seen an 8 1/2 year old do this well only once. Malakhi gets the dental patient of my life time award. He did not make a single peep while he was having his teeth pulled. Even when he was numbed on the roof of the mouth. I have always heard that is the worst. I have seen grown men cry with that shot! His eyes didn't even water! I have always known he is a tough little boy, but it has been proven now! I think he is the only one in the male species that could withstand the pain of child birth! Our dentist said he told a 40 year old man that he has an 8 1/2 year old who is a better patient than him. LOL! Wouldn't that be hard to hear!

I think I just about have my mom's room set up. I am washing and drying sheets now. I am praying for a peaceful and smooth visit. I realized my mom hasn't been to my house in over 3 years. Probably close to 4! No wonder I am so anxious about it! My kids are so excited~ they can't wait! The reason mom hasn't been here is because they quit traveling. Up until when my dad got so sick. He took one last visit down and stayed at Sonderella's because my house was on the market. I did spend a week with them there. It was a good week. I hope this month with my mom will be uneventful.
